Choose where your data is stored to meet compliance requirements:
Note: Data residency is available on the Business plan.
Data residency means your data is stored in a specific geographic location to help you comply with local laws and regulations.
Why does data residency matter?
Different regions have their own rules about data storage:
Domain protection works by linking one or more verified domains to your workspace. Add these from the top of the Security Settings page.
- The GDPR requires that EU citizens’ personal data be handled according to European standards, no matter where it’s stored or processed.
- Some government agencies, such as those in Australia, mandate that certain data must remain within national borders.
By selecting where your data is stored, you ensure compliance and demonstrate your commitment to data protection.
How does data residency work in GeoVision?
GeoVision gives you control over where your data lives:
- All workspaces start in GeoVision’s default region.
Business plan customers can select a different region for their workspace to align with compliance needs. - The Extra Data Region add-on lets you set data residency at the project level for even more flexibility.
